To decrease cases of missed abusive head trauma in PICU settings, Pediatric Brain Injury Research Network (PediBIRN) investigators have developed a sensitive screening tool for pediatric abusive head trauma. Applied as a prediction tool, the screening tool facilitates calculation of an evidence-based, patient-specific, estimate of the probability of abuse.
